Things to do on Oaxaca’s Coast
Close to Puerto Escondido and Mazunte, discover Playa Agua Blanca, a small fishing town and hidden paradise known for its pristine beaches, stunning rock formations, and natural sea pools. This peaceful beach offers opportunities for surfing and boogie boarding (only for experienced surfers). With its untouched beaches, Playa Agua Blanca is the perfect destination for deep relaxation and a connection with nature. It is celebrated for its fresh and delicious seafood, such as oysters, shrimp, and huachinango fish. For a delightful meal, try one of the highly recommended restaurants, “La Mestiza,” “Olguita,” or “Perlita,” just a 5-minute walk from UtopiAmar. In the evening, we can offer you homemade meals or delivery services (Tacos Michi). If you want to explore the area, only 10 minutes away is Playa Escobilla, where you can experience releasing baby turtles into the ocean, or visit La Ventanilla Natural Park, a wildlife haven home to crocodiles, iguanas, and a variety of birds. Puerto Escondido and Mazunte, only a 30-minute drive away, are also great for nightlife or exploring bioluminescent waters and other fun activities.
